My name is Tom aka "Creek" and I live in a small town in Medina County, Ohio. Not long ago, I retired from The Sherwin-Williams Company and began retirement with my family.
While living in Bailey Colorado starting in 2000, I was a volunteer firefighter with the Platte Canyon volunteer fire department. My time on the department was personally very rewarding as I gained a sense of accomplishment, giving back to the community and helping when people were having some of their most difficult times. The terrorist attack on the twin towers in 2001 had a huge impact on me from many perspectives. The incredible loss of life and the bravery of first responders who went directly into the face of danger, risking their lives in hopes of saving others. So many innocent citizens and First Responders paid the ultimate price on that horrific day. Due to several relocations for my professional career, I was no longer able to be a volunteer firefighter. However, I found a new opportunity to give back to my community through the incredible efforts of The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
I am dedicating my hike to Tunnel to Towers Foundation and hope to raise money through contributions to my newly formed T2T team. If you would kindly consider donating, it will help fuel my efforts to continue heading northbound, I would sincerely appreciate it! Thank you so very much!
